English/Spanish speech services

This service is offered to students attending private schools/daycares as public schools have the necessary services and personnel to provide accommodations.

 

The purpose of this service is to assist students with delays or mild disabilities receive the support needed to succeed in a typical daycare/school. The following are some of the areas targeted:

 

  • Adapting classroom/learning materials to the child’s level

 

  • Assisting the student to participate in classroom routines/activities

 

  • Helping students generalize communication skills

 

  • Modeling strategies and techniques for teachers and other professionals who are in the classroom

 

  • Consultation with teachers and other professionals as needed

 

  • Services can be embedded with language support to improve cognitive and pragmatic skills.

How do I know if my child needs this service?

The school administration may have mentioned in a parent-teacher conference that your child is displaying behaviors in class, has difficulty following the classroom routines and rules, and/or educational skills are below expectations

 

What is the age range for this service?

We have helped children as young as 2 years of age to elementary school age. We are open to assisting beyond this age if needed. 

 

How do I get my child started?

An in-depth consultation with the parents, school director, and teacher is scheduled to discuss concerns. The child is observed in the classroom to further identify his/her strengths and weaknesses. The information gathered is then analyzed to identify the course of action. 

 

What is the duration of a session?

The duration is a minimum of an hour per session. 

 

What is the price per hour?

The price depends on the number of hours needed per week. 

 

What is the frequency per week?

The frequency of services will depend on the amount of support needed. For example, student “A” may need one hour per week while student “B” may need five hours per week (one hour daily).

Pediatric feeding and swallowing therapy helps increase the intake and acceptance of a variety of foods and decrease refusal behaviors associated with feeding.
